SYNOPSIS
A friendship shaken.
Five years ago, Athena’s and Artemis’s friendship ended badly and all communication abruptly ceased. That is, until two weeks ago, when Athena sent Artemis an incomprehensible note along with her favorite necklace, which she never parted with. Now Athena is dead and Artemis is forced to visit her in her final resting place.
A buried secret.
Only two more people attend the forty-year-old’s funeral: her close friend, Peter, and her psychiatrist. Peter has serious doubts that Athena committed suicide. While Artemis initially doesn’t seem to share this view, she is eventually persuaded to follow Peter and help him uncover together what exactly happened to their old friend.
A truth that will overturn everything.
Artemis and Peter start delving into their friend’s past. The deeper they penetrate Athena’s uniquely distinct personality, the more they lose a part of themselves -and the harsher the reality they must face becomes. Because nothing is as it seems, and sometimes it’s better for some truths to remain buried deep forever.
