Andy Papadimitriou has been creating stories since childhood. He has published three short stories and two books: the award-winning novel The Thesis “I Diatrivi” by Livani Publishing Organization and the novel Personality “Prosopikotita” by BELL Books. His scripts have been awarded by the Scriptwriters Guild of Greece, and his award-winning short films have participated in various international festivals. In theater, he directed the monologue The Night Just Before the Forests by B. M. Koltès at the Metaxourgeio Theater in Athens, as well as Sophocles’s tragedy Oedipus The King, which presented at the International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama in Cyprus with outstanding success. The production became one of the most commercially successful in the festival’s history.
Andy P. was born in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1984, grew up in Messolonghi, a small, historic town in the west of the country, and “matured” in Athens. He earned a BSc in Business Studies and an MBA from the University of Wales in the United Kingdom. At the age of 25, he commenced studies in directing at Hellenic Cinema and Television School Stavrakos (HCTSS) in Athens, Greece. He is a member of the Directors-Producers Guild of Greek Cinema, the Directors Guild of Cyprus, the Cyprus Centre of the International Theatre Institute (CCOITI), the worldwide association of writers PEN Cyprus, the Philosophical Society of Cyprus and the Cyprus National Association of Greek Authors.
